A New ‘Rein’ for Saddles Mount White

From TOMORROW [16th October 2023], new management will taken the reins of Saddles Mount White. A quintessential Australian dining destination, Saddles has already been recognised as one of the Most Beautiful Restaurants in the World (Conde Nast, 2023), and the changes implemented have elevated the venue to new heights.

Preserving the venue’s unique charm, patrons can expect a new and improved menu, an international wine list, extended outdoor and takeaway dining and an interior revamp.

The change in management means owner John Singleton has more involvement in the venue’s operations, and his eye for detail will ensure the restaurant maintains its status. “Saddles was already good, but now it will be great”, said Singleton, speaking of the changes.

Head Chef Kodi Southgate is thrilled to unveil the new ‘paddock to plate’ inspired menu. “We’re proud to work with local artisan producers and farmers to showcase the best of Australian meat and produce”, says Southgate. “We have spent months crafting the [new] menu to create an authentic dining experience that encapsulates the essence of Australia.”.

Previously Australian-only, the new management team has expanded the drinks menu to include a carefully curated selection of local and international wines, beers, and spirits to perfectly pair with every dish.

Nestled on 25-acres of land, Saddles has extended its outdoor and takeaway offering, embracing the natural beauty of the restaurant’s surroundings. Guests can enjoy Saddles’ famous pies, pastries and select menu items by the dam or in the dedicated picnic area whilst taking in the serene setting.

Designed by the acclaimed White + Dickson Architects and Interior Designer, Michelle Leslie, Saddles is renowned for its signature architectural and interior style. Five years on, Michelle has returned to breathe new life into the venue. The interior changes include a hand tooled steel and brass kitchen gantry, new gardens and floral installations featuring Australian natives and plants, and a takeaway coffee caravan with tables and chairs [caravan coming soon].

Saddles looks forward to welcoming regulars and newcomers alike to experience the menu and venue changes. To preview, visit the new website www.saddlesmountwhite.com.au or follow @saddlesmountwhite on Instagram and Facebook.
