Chronicle Counsel: Beauty during lock-down

I know I’m not the only one who was struggling during lock-down without my regular visits to the hairdresser and beautician. Thankfully when my hairdresser – the wonderful Leah from Alira Hair reopened, I was able to secure one of the first appointments.

In the picture below, you can see WHY I was so keen to get in there!

Alira Hair is located in the picturesque Hardy’s Bay and Leah uses Keune products, which not only leave your hair looking its absolute best, it smells and feels incredible.

After a colour, shampoo, treatment and blow-dry, here is the finished product!

During the lockdown period, I also had the opportunity to trial some of the loveliest beauty products I’ve ever had the chance to use.

You may have seen the Biologi beauty products in our Mother’s Day gift guide.

I was able to trial the Biologi Lip Serum “Nourish” and the Organic Rosehip Oil.

Last year I had surgery which has affected my skin and this winter my skin isn’t loving the colder weather one bit. The Lip Serum glides on and has a lovely citrus (finger lime) flavour. My lips have never been softer and I love using it in place of my regular lipsticks.

The Rosehip oil box says it’s “A hydrating oil-rich and vitamins and essential fatty acids, Rosehip Oil protects, repairs and nourishes skin cells leading to a bright glowing complexion”.

It really does live up to everything that it claims on the box. While the fragrance isn’t as lovely as the lip serum, what it has done for my skin in a short amount of time, is remarkable.

I use it under make-up, at night before bed and on the weekends when I’m staying in. It will become a staple in my products range when I finish the current bottle!
