At a time when so many small businesses are struggling the latest news should come as welcome relief.
Small businesses across the Central Coast are set to bounce back with up to $640,000 in grants available to assist community organisations and business owners generate new ideas leading into NSW Small Business Month.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said grants of up to $3,500 are available to assist chambers of commerce, industry associations and not-for-profit groups organise and execute events leading into NSW Small Business Month.
“After two years of disruption caused by COVID-19, the NSW Small Business Month will be returning in March 2022,” Mr Crouch said.
“The resilience and determination shown by Central Coast business owners during the last two years has been inspiring.
“Our community relies on small businesses across the Central Coast to live, work and play. Small Business Month provides a unique opportunity to hardworking small business owners by offering events that teach new skills and inspire new ideas.”
The theme of next year’s Small Business Month is ‘Rebuild, Recharge, Renew’, which reflects the NSW Government’s determination to help small businesses recover and build a brighter future.
Business NSW Regional Director for the Central Coast, Paula Martin said Small Business month is renowned for helping to generate new product ideas or help businesses connect to new business opportunities.
“On the Central Coast over 70% of our business community is made up of micro and small businesses. This cohort has done it very tough over the last three months and they need ongoing support to continue investing in their business and creating jobs.
“It is good to see Business Chambers included as potential delivery partners as they are in the best position to deliver business support appropriate to the town centres they serve.” Ms Martin said.
Applications for event grants open on 1 November, and must be submitted by 10 December.
