Flying Start for Upgrade of Bushlands Reserve

The bushlands of Springfield are set to receive a much-needed boost, thanks to a collaborative effort between the local community, Central Coast Council, and the NSW Government. Member for Terrigal, Adam Crouch, recently unveiled plans for a $50,000 upgrade to Bushlands Reserve, promising exciting new additions that will delight both children and families alike.

In a statement released earlier this week, Mr. Crouch expressed his pride in announcing the forthcoming enhancements to the reserve. “I’m pleased to be able to announce that Bushlands Reserve in Springfield will soon be home to a brand-new flying fox and drinking fountain as part of a $50,000 investment from the NSW Government,” he declared.

The decision to upgrade Bushlands Reserve follows extensive consultation with both the council and the local community. Recognizing the importance of providing quality recreational facilities for families in the area, Mr. Crouch emphasized the significance of investing in spaces like Bushlands Reserve. “It was clear that Bushlands Reserve would be a great investment for the Springfield community, which is home to many young families,” he explained.

Acknowledging the role of community advocacy in driving the project forward, Mr. Crouch praised the efforts of the Springfield Residents Association. “Without the strong advocacy of the Springfield Residents Association, who have consistently lobbied for a drinking fountain at the park, this project would not have come to fruition,” he noted.

Furthermore, Mr. Crouch extended his gratitude to Brett Sherar from Central Coast Council for his role in ensuring the successful delivery of funds to the Springfield community. Such collaborative efforts underscore the importance of partnership between government agencies and local residents in creating vibrant and inclusive public spaces.

With plans underway for the installation of the new amenities, excitement is building within the Springfield community. The upgrade to Bushlands Reserve represents not only an investment in infrastructure but also a testament to the power of community advocacy in shaping the places we call home. As construction gets underway, residents eagerly anticipate the transformation of Bushlands Reserve into a hub of outdoor recreation and family-friendly fun.
