Gosford RSL raises thousands 4THEKIDS – We’ve said it before, there’s NOTHING like the Central Coast community, when it comes to fundraising.
Yet again, the community has contributed an incredible sum to a local cause, to help those in need.
Gosford RSL Club hosted a Family Fundraiser afternoon, 4thekids, on June 18 to raise much needed funds for Ronald McDonald Family Room Gosford.
Gosford RSL is proud to announce $10,000 was raised from Members and the local community!
Ronald McDonald houses and rooms are located within footsteps of major women’s and children’s hospitals across Australia.
The houses and rooms provide a homely and inviting place to stay for parents, guardians, carers and their siblings while their child is undergoing treatment in a nearby hospital.
Part of what makes the houses and rooms unique is that families are able to benefit from the compassionate support of the volunteers and staff, and the companionship of other families who are navigating a similar journey.
They are welcoming spaces where families can take time out from the clinical environment of the wards, have a tea or coffee, freshen up with a shower or find a quiet space for a much-needed nap.
The Family Rooms also have dedicated play areas so the siblings of seriously ill children can have a bit of fun.
Ronald McDonald Family Rooms rely on the work of volunteers and the financial support of individual and corporate donations.
The Fundraiser afternoon’s many free activities included a jumping castle, face painting, balloons, the Fun Engine Fire truck and a special visit from the man himself – Ronald McDonald!
Plus, Gosford RSL provided prizes for the online and in-house raffle and held 100 Club draws throughout the afternoon.
