Ground breaking ceremony at Gosford RSL

Ground breaking ceremony at Gosford RSL – The Gosford RSL Club today celebrated the ground-breaking of the club’s $45 million upgrade project in West Gosford.

Guests at the well-attended event included the Club’s Board of Directors and leadership team; senior management from WMK Architecture and North Construction & Building; and a number of consultants involved on the project.

Scheduled for completion in 2023, the much anticipated 3-storey building will be a stand-out venue for the region.

“Everyone at Gosford RSL is so excited to be formally starting the construction of our new Club today,” expressed Gosford RSL CEO, Russell Cooper.  “For many years now, we have had a vision to create not just a new Club, but a landmark building at the gateway to Gosford and the Central Coast, that our community can be proud of.  To that effect we are proud to be working with another outstanding local business, North Construction & Building, to deliver a project that will provide employment for Central Coast locals during and after construction as well as helping to drive the local economy forward.

There’s been a lot of hard work from a lot of people to get to this stage and a lot more to come in the next 18 months, but it will all be worth it when we open the doors and welcome everyone to the new Gosford RSL Club.”

The new facility, designed by WMK Architecture, features a port cochere entry, RSL museum, glass-enclosed spiral staircase leading up to multiple entertaining and dining spaces including an expansive outdoor terrace overlooked by the Club’s own brewery.

‘We are delighted to be working with North on this next phase and to see the Club’s elegant design come to fruition in what will be an enduring legacy for the region.’ says John Andreas, Director WMK.

Delivering the architectural vision is local builder, North Construction & Building, who were awarded the contract last month after a competitive tender period.

“We’re so excited to be the trusted building partner of the Gosford RSL Club on this project,” stated North Managing Director, Matthew Cook. “We look forward to delivering this project while maintaining business as usual for the club and their members. Visitors will soon see a new temporary parking lot where they can easily access the current club and watch as the new facility takes shape over the coming months.”

The existing RSL Club will remain operational throughout construction.
