IWD – Local women recognised

12 Terrigal women are being celebrated with a Local Woman of the Year Afternoon Tea in recognition of the significant support they have provided to the Terrigal community.

Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch MP congratulated each of the 12 women for their nominations, acknowledging their hard work across the region.

“Each of these 12 women continue to make tremendous contributions to the Terrigal Electorate with an unflagging passion to make our community a better place,” Mr Crouch said.

“Some of the nominations include Louise Vangestel, founder of Tarragal Outrigging Club, Monique Roy, Executive Member of the Three Villages Group, Jenny McCulla President of Davistown Progress Association and Jan Sillato from MacMasters Beach Surf Life Saving.

“I would also like to acknowledge the people who have submitted the applications for each of these fantastic women.”

The Local Woman of the Year Awards is an annual program which recognises and celebrates the support women give to their local communities throughout NSW.

Minister for Women Bronnie Taylor congratulated all of the Local Women of the Year nominees.

“These women are the backbone of their communities, volunteering their time and energy to make a positive difference,” Mrs Taylor said.

“I would like to acknowledge their significant efforts to support their local communities and thank them for all the work they do.”

The Local Woman of the Year Awards are a way the NSW Government celebrates the achievements of women as part of International Women’s Day on March 8.

The NSW Women of the Year Awards will be held at the International Convention Centre, Sydney on March 9, 2023.
