The Central Coast has experienced a summer of sport that has not only thrilled fans but also delivered a significant economic boost to the region. A series of major sporting events held at Industree Group Stadium from May to July attracted a combined crowd of 74,590, with thousands more enjoying the Grand Final live site.

The economic impact of these events is nothing short of impressive. A comprehensive analysis conducted by Central Coast Council reveals that the four major sporting events generated a staggering $9.75 million in economic revenue for the region. This figure includes visitor spending, which reached a total of $6 million.

Beyond the financial windfall, these events have also created employment opportunities. Over 1,250 local people were employed at the stadium during the event period, and the economic spinoffs are estimated to have created the equivalent of 50 new full-time jobs on the Central Coast.

The A-League Grand Final proved to be a standout event, drawing a record-breaking crowd of 21,379 and contributing $3 million to the local economy. The Mariners’ Semi-Final and the Roosters v Bulldogs NRL match also made significant contributions, with economic impacts of $3 million and $2 million respectively.
