The start of Avoca Drive upgrade field investigation
Member for Terrigal, Adam Crouch, expressed his satisfaction as field investigations for the much-anticipated upgrade of Avoca Drive commenced on January 22nd. The initiation of these investigations marks a significant milestone in the project, laying the groundwork for informed decision-making in future roadwork and planning.
Crouch, who secured $2 million in the State Budget for the Avoca Drive upgrade, voiced his enthusiasm about the project’s progression. He stated, “I’m delighted to see that the $2 million I secured in the State Budget has been able to assist in progressing the upgrade of Avoca Drive, with field investigations beginning on January 22nd.”
Highlighting the proactive measures taken to secure funding, Crouch emphasised his pre-budget lobbying efforts. Expressing concerns within the community about potential delays or cancellations under the Albanese Labor Government’s infrastructure review, Crouch played a pivotal role in ensuring the necessary funds were allocated for the project.
Despite this progress, Crouch acknowledged the absence of federal funds for the Avoca Drive upgrade, as confirmed by the NSW Minister for Regional Transport. Anticipating financial support in the upcoming Federal Budget, he emphasised the importance of these funds for successfully realising the infrastructure project, benefiting the local community and the numerous commuters relying on Avoca Drive daily.
Looking ahead, Crouch pledged to advocate for additional funding from the State Labor Government in this year’s State Budget. His commitment underscores the determination to ensure the community receives its fair share of resources, emphasising the significance of investing in vital infrastructure for the well-being of residents and the efficiency of the region’s transportation network.
