Gosford RSL Celebrates Milestone

The Topping Out Ceremony Marks The Completion of Main Structural Works.

Key stakeholders came together recently to celebrate the topping out of the Gosford RSL Redevelopment project. The milestone was recognised with a traditional tree hoisting ceremony on site and officially marks the completion of all major structural works.

This landmark building is now 65% complete and on track to open in early 2024.

“We are pleased to mark this significant milestone in the construction of the new Gosford RSL Club,” stated Gosford RSL Club CEO, Russell Cooper. “We are a community owned organisation and from the inception of this project we have been insistent on creating a venue that Gosford and the Central Coast can be proud of.

“Our site marks the gateway to Gosford and the Central Coast and our new Club will make a statement that our region is prosperous, modern and growing.  It’s exciting to hear so many locals talking about the new Club now that they can see the full scope of the building.  It’s only going to get even more exciting, as the fit-out commences, and we start forming the hospitality spaces that will be entertaining locals and visitors to the Central Coast from early next year.”

The ultra-modern, 3-story venue is the culmination of a collaborative partnership between the Club, North Construction & Building, WMK Architecture, The APP Group and many more amazing trade contractors and suppliers. “As a regional construction company with our roots here on the Central Coast, today is a particularly special moment for the business and its legacy,” expressed Matthew Cook, North Managing Director.
“The topping out ceremony was a great opportunity for all project stakeholders to celebrate a critical construction milestone on this truly exciting project.”

Cook went on to say, “It has been a real team effort thus far between our trade contractors. Congratulations to all involved to date on the project, we can’t wait to experience the venue upon completion.”

The impressive new Club is positioned at the north end of the site, prominently overlooking the Central Coast Highway, and will feature a distinctive porte-cochere entry, RSL museum and reception servicing both the RSL and the adjoining motel on the ground floor. The first floor will contain a cafe, lounge, bar, multiple indoor and outdoor dining options, kids play area, and teenage retreat. The second floor will showcase sophisticated conference and event spaces, sports bar and Gosford RSL’s successful ‘Oak Haven Brewery’.

Once the new Club is operational with patrons enjoying the new spaces, North will demolish the existing Club and establish an additional 154 car parking spaces to accommodate the expected increase in patron numbers. The existing RSL Club continues to remain operational throughout construction.
